EXCELLENT Based on 12 reviews Posted on Elida MeyerTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I met with DeAnne this week for a consultation. Although home birth was not an option for me, she lovingly discussed all my concerns with hospital birthing and answered all questions I had to the fullest extent. Our consultation was absolutely free and she talked to me for an hour! The information alone she provided was invaluable and I wish she could be my midwife! Deanne is very knowledgeable and has experience in western medicine as well as holistic, which is rare. She encouraged me to be strong and find a doula to help be my advocate. I would recommend her services to anyone who’s even curious about natural unmedicated childbirth.Posted on Stephanie EddyTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I found DeAnne at 8 months pregnant after having to move unexpectedly. She went above and beyond to care for me and my son. She is kind, professional, knowledgeable, and quick to respond even after her commitment to me was over. If you’re interested in a home-birth midwife in South Houston I highly recommend DeAnne!Posted on Melissa A.Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. 100% recommend DeAnne! She is incredibly knowledgeable, and so sweet! She went above and beyond in her midwife role, and I am forever grateful for her. Because of her, I had the experience I was looking for and I can't wait to see her midwifery practice flourish. If you're trying to figure out if this is for you, let this be your sign to meet with her. You won't regret it.Posted on dalicitaaTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Yes! I just had my baby with her in December of 2024. I had a very difficult pregnancy and was even hospitalized twice, but Deanne was there for me through it all. She answered my late-night calls, calmed my fears, and made sure I never felt alone. She’s incredibly compassionate and caring—I always felt genuinely supported. After my baby girl was born, Deanne even helped me find amazing pediatricians who ended up being the perfect fit. My baby adored her, and so did I. I’m beyond grateful to have had her as my midwife!Posted on Madeline BrockTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I just had my first baby with DeAnne on 12/12. I am so grateful for the care that New Traditions gave me to the whole way through! The prenatal and postnatal care has made me feel so comfortable and confident in my journey into motherhood. I knew I wanted a natural home birth and she was supportive of every detail of my birth plan. (I did not plan on laboring for 30 hours but she was with me every bit of the way! ) If you need a midwife I recommend DeAnne and the New Traditions team 1000000%. I couldn’t be more happy with her care. ❤️Posted on Rachel DuncanTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I just had my baby a little over 2 weeks ago, so we have gone the distance together. When I was looking for midwives I specifically wanted someone who was a Certified Nurse Midwife. DeAnne is that plus an advance nurse practitioner. So that was a bonus! That is what got me in the door, worth driving 45 minutes to the consultation. (We live in Crosby). What made us stay was her professionalism, attention to detail (answering any questions we had as well as asking her own to make sure we were a good fit), and her calm and kind demeanor. Both my husband and I felt confident with her after the first meeting. We remained confident in our decision as time and again she addressed any concerns we had, sent off for additional testing when applicable, and let us express our desires for the pregnancy and birth while giving her expert opinion. This was my second pregnancy, first home birth (my first was in a birthing center) and I am so grateful for the process this time around. This birth happened much more quickly than we anticipated but DeAnne stayed in contact with us and was quick to jump in right away when she arrived at our home. She has also been great postpartum thus far. Stayed for a while after baby was born to make sure both of us were fine. I bled fairly hesvily right at first and she kept a close eye on me and gave me a shot (with my consent) to slow the bleeding. She got everything under control quickly and made sure it stayed that way. She also thoroughly checking out both me and my baby at follow up appointments . If I had any questions she was quick to answer them both at the appointments and via text. I highly recommend her. If we are ever blessed with more babies in the future we will definitely be using her again!Posted on Gillian YanocTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. DeAnne was my midwife for when I got pregnant last year in January, till when I gave birth in September. She was absolutely amazing to work with. She had so much information to give me and she had always made sure to set me at ease no matter what the situation was. Even whenever I had my long labor, she made sure that I was taken care of the Whole time. I would highly recommend her to anyone who’s looking to do homebirthPosted on Christin HubbardTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Deanne is an amazing midwife! I highly reccomend her to anyone that is looking for a midwife!Posted on Danielle CarrTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. DeAnne is amazing. I have lost 20 pounds in 10 weeks. I am so impressed with not only the weight loss but the expertise that DeAnne has provided. My initial appointment she really took the time to explain everything to me and really hear what I had to say. Not only did she explain the medication she helped me with a nutritional plan of attack by showing me some great websites with awesome recipes. She is very knowledgeable and so accessible. Highly recommend!

Understanding BMI Categories for Adults
Body Mass Index (BMI) is a widely used screening tool that helps categorize weight status in adults aged 20 and older. However, it’s important to remember that BMI is just one of many health indicators and should be considered alongside other factors when evaluating an individual’s overall health. If you have any questions about your BMI, it’s advisable to consult with a healthcare provider. Below is a detailed breakdown of BMI categories:
BMI Categories and Ranges
BMI Category | BMI Range (kg/m²) |
Underweight | Less than 18.5 |
Healthy Weight | 18.5 to less than 25 |
Overweight | 25 to less than 30 |
Obesity | 30 or greater |
Class 1 Obesity | 30 to less than 35 |
Class 2 Obesity | 35 to less than 40 |
Class 3 Obesity | (Severe Obesity) 40 or greater |
Why Consider BMI?
While BMI is a useful tool, it does not account for all variables such as muscle mass, bone density, and overall body composition. Thus, it’s critical to use BMI as part of a broader health assessment.
For more information, please ensure you read additional resources or discuss with a healthcare professional to understand how BMI specifically relates to your health.
